Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using wheretoemigrate.io (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. The Site operates under the CONNEX brand and is operated by MAGOP Lda (NIPC 513722785), a company registered in Portugal at Rua Tomás da Fonseca, Centro Empresarial Torres de Lisboa, Torre G, 1600-209 Lisboa. MAGOP Lda is the legal entity behind CONNEX. Serving users globally.
2. Description of Services
wheretoemigrate.io provides a questionnaire that organises recorded migration-programme information around answers supplied by the user. The free result and optional paid personalised guide, supplied as a PDF and private online reading page, are informational research aids: they do not decide eligibility, rank a person legally, or guarantee an outcome. We also publish free educational content about international mobility.
3. Not Legal, Immigration, Tax, or Financial Advice
The information provided through our assessment tool, reports, and blog content is for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, immigration, tax, or financial advice. See our Disclaimer for full details.
We are not a law firm, immigration consultancy, or regulated financial advisor. We do not submit visa applications, represent you before any government authority, or guarantee any immigration outcome. Always consult qualified professionals before making immigration decisions.
4. User Responsibilities
When using our assessment tool, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information about your personal circumstances
- Understand that the accuracy of your results depends on the accuracy of your inputs
- Not use the Site for any unlawful purpose
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy our assessment algorithm or content
- Not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit our reports or content without written permission
5. Paid Reports and Digital Products
Pricing: Report prices are displayed on our Pricing page and are charged in EUR, VAT included — the figure you see is the figure you pay; nothing is added at checkout. See "VAT and taxes" below.
VAT and taxes: Prices displayed on this Site (e.g. €10 for the Full Report) are final prices, VAT included where applicable. Stripe calculates any VAT due automatically based on your billing country and includes it in the price shown — there is no separate VAT line added at checkout, and your Stripe receipt reflects the same total. If you are located outside the EU, you are responsible for any local taxes, import duties, or withholding taxes that may apply in your jurisdiction. Stripe, our payment processor, may collect and remit VAT on our behalf where required.
Preparation and delivery: after confirmed payment we begin preparing the personalised digital guide and send a direct PDF link when the file is ready. Preparation is automated but can require retries; no fixed five-minute delivery time is promised. A sent email alone is not treated as proof that the file was received. If the link or delivery fails, contact us so that we can reconcile the payment, artefact and delivery record.
As-is delivery: All reports and guides are provided "as is" based on the data you supplied during the assessment and publicly available immigration data at the time of generation. We do not guarantee that any specific programme, visa route, or eligibility criterion will remain unchanged after your report is generated.
Payment records and disputes: for a new checkout governed by the purchase terms version shown there, we keep the Stripe payment record and the acceptance result returned by Stripe, together with the preparation, delivery and access evidence actually recorded. Historical purchases retain their historical evidence; a missing acceptance field is never filled retrospectively. If you dispute a payment, we use only the records that exist for that purchase. Please contact hello@wheretoemigrate.io so that we can investigate the order first.
5A. Corrections — 14-day factual-error remedy
If you find a factual error in your report — objectively incorrect data verifiable against an official government source — contact us within 14 days of purchase with the order ID or report ID. We verify the error and, if confirmed, prepare a corrected edition using the data contract and renderer attached to that purchase, then verify delivery of that exact edition. Refunds are not offered as a default policy; reports are personalised digital products. In edge cases where a correction is not possible or appropriate, we may offer a goodwill refund on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
Programme changes after purchase. A report is a snapshot of the database at the moment it is generated. We do not monitor rule changes on your behalf and we do not send change alerts. If a programme in your report changes after you buy, contact us within 15 days of purchase and we will re-run your guide once against the current database at no charge, after verifying the change against an official source (see our Correction Policy). Earlier purchases and checkout reservations retain the terms offered to them, including the previous 60-day request window. We use the date we receive your request; later processing does not remove a timely request. The original PDF access remains 30 days. Factual-error remedies and statutory consumer rights are unchanged. The revised edition has its own PDF download link, available for 30 days from preparation; it does not extend access to the original report.
EU consumers — immediate digital supply: for new purchases, Stripe displays a required checkbox before payment. By ticking it, the buyer expressly requests that preparation and supply of the personalised digital guide begin before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, acknowledges that the withdrawal right is lost once supply begins, and accepts the Terms version identified at checkout. We store Stripe’s acceptance result and send the same information in the purchase confirmation. The Article 16(m) exception applies only when all applicable legal conditions are met. Historical purchases keep the evidence actually recorded for them; we do not infer consent from a null or missing field. The factual-correction remedy above and mandatory consumer rights remain available.
Age — must be 18 or older. whereTOemigrate is intended for adults capable of taking emigration decisions. By purchasing, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly sell to minors. Reports are not directed at children.
5B. Correction Policy
If you believe the report contains a factual error — defined as objectively incorrect data such as a wrong visa fee, incorrect income threshold, or outdated programme name that can be verified against official government sources — contact us within 14 days. We will verify the error and, if confirmed, prepare a corrected edition of the version purchased at no extra charge. The current product does not issue an eligibility score or country verdict. A factual correction concerns recorded programme information; it does not guarantee an application outcome. Historical purchases retain their applicable terms, consumer and renderer.
6. Intellectual Property and Licence
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, the assessment algorithm, report templates, and blog articles — is owned by whereTOemigrate or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may share links to our blog articles and reference our content with proper attribution. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute substantial portions of our content without written permission.
Licence grant: When you purchase a report or guide, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the purchased content for your own emigration research and decisions. You may share your copy with your immediate household and with your own professional advisers (for example, an immigration lawyer, accountant, or financial adviser) who are assisting you with the same relocation. This licence does not include the right to:
- Post, publish, resell, sublicence, or distribute the report publicly or to anyone outside your household and your own advisers on this relocation
- Reproduce or republish the report or substantial portions thereof
- Use the report content to build competing products or services
- Remove or alter the personalisation footer, copyright notices, or attribution
No DRM; traceability, not restriction: Reports are delivered as plain PDF files with no password protection, no encryption, and no technical restriction on printing, saving, or copying. Each report carries a small personalisation footer showing the purchasing email address, and our records link each report to the purchase it was generated for. We use this only to identify reports that turn up posted publicly, resold, or distributed outside the personal and advisory use described above. If we detect that, we reserve the right to revoke the licence, disable download access, and pursue legal remedies including claims for damages under applicable copyright law.
7. Data Protection
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
8. Accuracy and Updates
We cover residency and citizenship programmes across 200+ countries and verify programme data against official government sources on an ongoing basis: every pathway records the date it was last checked, re-verification runs in batches by country with the most-viewed destinations prioritised, and the live per-country status is published at wheretoemigrate.io/freshness. We do not operate a guaranteed re-verification cycle — most programmes were captured once from the official source and have not yet been independently re-verified (see our editorial standards). Immigration laws and policies change frequently, sometimes the day after we check. We cannot guarantee that all information is current at any given time.
Between reviews, some programmes may reflect outdated thresholds, fees, or requirements. New programmes may not yet be included, and existing ones may have been modified or suspended. Items marked with [VERIFY-ANNUALLY] or [LAST REVIEWED: date] indicate data points subject to periodic change. Always verify current requirements directly with the relevant government authority before taking action.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, whereTOemigrate and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, reliance on our content, or purchase of reports.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Site or reports shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
9A. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, government actions, sanctions, embargoes, labour disputes, power failures, internet or telecommunications failures, cyberattacks, or failures of third-party service providers (including payment processors, hosting services, and email delivery services).
9B. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless whereTOemigrate, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of or reliance on the Site, reports, or content; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (d) any immigration, tax, or financial decisions you make based on information from our Site.
10. Third-Party Links
Our content may contain links to third-party websites (government immigration portals, embassy sites, service providers). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites. Links do not imply endorsement. Some links may generate a commission at no cost to you.
11. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Site or email. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising from your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Portuguese courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in your country of residence.
Informal resolution: Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, you agree to contact us at hello@wheretoemigrate.io and allow 30 days to resolve the matter informally.
Arbitration (non-EU users): If you are located outside the European Economic Area and the matter is not resolved informally, you agree that any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the rules of the Arbitration Centre (Centro de Arbitragem de Lisboa), conducted in English. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding. Judgement on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver (non-EU users): To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis only, and not as part of any class, consolidated, or representative action. If this class action waiver is found to be unenforceable, the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be void.
EU consumers: If you are a consumer in the EU, you retain the mandatory consumer-protection rights and access to the competent courts and consumer alternative-dispute-resolution bodies available under the law applicable to you. Contact us first at hello@wheretoemigrate.io so that we can investigate the order.
