Initial stay: 60 months.

Documents

• Identity documents (e.g. passport, national identity card)
• Proof of change of name if applicable (marriage or divorce certificate, official change of name document)
• Two recent passport-size photos for each applicant
• Evidence of relationship to a New Zealand citizen (e.g. birth certificates, marriage certificates, family status certificates, evidence of being part of the NZ citizen's family)
• Evidence that the New Zealand citizen holds or is eligible for a Subclass 444 visa (birth certificate, passport)
• Character documents (Australian police certificate, overseas police certificate)
• Military service records or discharge papers if armed forces service in last 10 years
• Form 80 Personal particulars for assessment including character assessment
• Form 1221 Additional personal particulars information
• Consent to Exchange of Criminal Record Check Information form if applicable (for time in New Zealand)
• For dependents under 18: proof of relationship (birth/marriage/adoption certificates), parental court orders if applicable
• Form 1229 Consent form to grant an Australian visa to a child under 18 or equivalent statutory declaration, if applicable
• Form 1257 Undertaking declaration if minor not staying with relative or guardian
• Proof of dependency for dependents over 18 (Form 47a, proof of living together, tax records, proof of current study)
