Citizenship possible after 4 years.

Documents

• current passport: photo and personal details for all applicants
• national identity card, if available
• proof of change of name, if applicable (marriage/divorce certificate or equivalent)
• Form 40 Sponsorship for migration to Australia (for sponsor)
• evidence of relationship to each child
• evidence of each child's Australian citizenship or permanent residence
• evidence for a child excluded from balance of family test (e.g. death certificate)
• Form 47A for details of dependents aged 18 years or over
• evidence of dependency for over 18 dependents (e.g. tax records, proof of study, proof of co-residence)
• for partner: marriage certificate or de facto relationship evidence
• 4 recent passport-size photographs for each applicant
• Form 1229 for consent for children under 18, or statutory declaration, or court order, with corresponding identity document showing signatory's photo/signature
• adoption papers or other court documents if applicable
• character documents, such as police certificates, if requested
• Assurance of Support, when requested (unless applying as a retiree)
