Initial stay: 24 months.

Documents

• Current passport pages (photo, personal details, issue/expiry dates)
• National identity card (if available)
• Proof of change of name (if applicable)
• 4 recent passport-size photos (45mm x 35mm) of the child and any other dependent child included
• Police certificates for all countries lived in for 12+ months since age 16 (children over 16)
• Form 80 Personal particulars for assessment including character assessment (children over 16)
• Military service records or discharge papers (if served in military)
• Evidence of relationship to parent (birth certificate, marriage certificate, adoption certificate, family status certificate or family book)
• Evidence of financial dependency (if over 18)
• Identity and relationship documents for each dependent under 18 (birth certificate, etc.)
• Character documents for dependents under 18 (if applicable)
• Parental responsibility consent (Form 1229 or statutory declaration, or court order, or evidence that laws allow departure)
• Identity document of consenting person (passport, driver's licence)
• Medical evidence of disability (if applicant over 18 with disability)
• Translations for non-English documents, with translator details (if outside Australia, details in English)
• Certified copies of all documents and certified photographs of applicants and dependents
