Key takeaway: A useful destination shortlist starts with a lawful recruitment channel, the documents you can prove and your family plans. Compare Saudi employer-led work, Japan’s skills route, Germany’s Opportunity Card, Canadian skilled immigration and UK sponsorship; none is an automatic approval.

Start with the recruitment channel in Bangladesh

Before comparing countries, establish how the job and departure will be documented. Bangladesh’s Overseas Employment Platform describes employer verification, BMET registration, training, orientation, medical records, a visa and emigration clearance as separate steps in its migrant journey. Its agency portal leads to the recruitment register, where licence numbers, status and validity dates can be checked. A broker’s message is not that evidence. Match the agency’s legal name and office to the register, obtain the employer’s identity and keep a copy of the proposed contract. Ask BMET which clearance steps apply to your own employment category, including an offer obtained without an agency. A visa does not establish completed Bangladesh departure clearance.

Saudi Arabia: examine the employer and contract

For a Saudi company job, the decisive evidence is an actual employer-led arrangement and permission for the work. HRSD’s current non-Saudi employment guidance requires a work permit and a written, fixed-term contract. The profession on the permit must match the lawful work, and professional licensing can be required separately. Compare the written wage, work location, accommodation arrangements, deductions and termination terms before committing. The employer bears recruitment and residence/work-permit costs under the stated rules; do not assume an agency can pass those items to you. Domestic employment uses its own regulation, so a household role should not be sold using company-worker conditions. A documented job does not promise permanent residence.

Japan: prepare for the exact Specified Skilled Worker field

Japan’s Specified Skilled Worker route is relevant when your intended work fits a covered field and you can meet its testing and hiring requirements. The Immigration Services Agency says SSW (i) normally requires a Japanese-language test and a skills test, with specified exceptions for completed Technical Intern Training. Its test page includes Bangladesh, but directs applicants to the test issuer for the latest schedule. A training advert is not an exam place or job offer. SSW (i) permits a total stay of five years and does not allow accompanying family under that status. SSW (ii) has different tests and family conditions. Do not plan a spouse’s move on an assumed automatic upgrade.

Germany: decide between job hunting and an offer from home

Germany’s Opportunity Card can support a qualified job search, but it requires evidence and money. The recognised-qualification option differs from the points option: the latter needs the relevant foreign qualification, at least six points and German A1 or English B2. The official page states a blocked-account amount of €1,091 net per month applicable in 2026, or an accepted declaration of commitment. That figure is a financing requirement, not a complete relocation budget. Initial job-search permission is for at most one year, and finding a job requires the appropriate next residence permission. Germany also explicitly says you can look for employment from your home country. If search funding is difficult, investigate an offer from Bangladesh first.

Canada: distinguish admission to the pool from selection

For someone with skilled foreign experience, Canada’s Federal Skilled Worker Program merits an evidence check. IRCC requires qualifying paid work, approved language results and an Educational Credential Assessment for foreign education. The work duties matter, not just the title on a business card. Express Entry first admits a profile to a pool; an invitation and assessment of the permanent-residence application come later. The programme’s selection-factor score is different from the Comprehensive Ranking System score. If using IELTS for Express Entry, choose General Training, not Academic. Check funds against the current IRCC table and your household size. Do not buy a promised invitation or reuse a historic draw score as an assurance of selection.

United Kingdom: sponsorship and recent changes matter

A new UK Skilled Worker application needs a confirmed eligible job with an approved sponsor, a certificate of sponsorship and the salary conditions for that occupation. Current English guidance generally requires B2; transitional B1 provisions are for specified existing visa holders. Health professionals also need the relevant registration. Care workers and senior care workers closed to new overseas applications on 22 July 2025, so a new care job from Bangladesh cannot be advertised as the old overseas route. England’s ethical recruitment code lists Bangladesh as a red country. The restriction concerns active recruitment from residents there, with a defined exception for individual direct applications to a vacancy at the employing organisation. It is neither a blanket ban on Bangladeshi nationals nor permission for an agency-led health campaign.

Build a budget for your contract and household

Use the official visa and clearance instructions to list what is payable, by whom and at which stage. Then add your own quotations for documents, required tests, travel, arrival housing and money until the first wage is paid. Keep proof of funds separate from fees: money you must demonstrate is not necessarily money paid to the government. For employer-led work, put each promised benefit in writing rather than valuing unspecified free housing as cash. For job hunting, plan what happens if no suitable offer arrives. Record amounts in the currency of the actual obligation and check the conversion before paying. Avoid borrowing against an estimated overseas salary that appears nowhere in the verified contract.

Choose the route you can document now

Use a short decision sheet: named route, employer or selection process, qualification proof, accepted language evidence, available funds and family conditions. Japan requires preparation for a specific field and test; a Saudi offer requires employer and contract checks; German job hunting requires financing; Canada requires a competitive documented profile; the UK requires a qualifying sponsor. These are different ways of moving, so a single best-country league table would conceal what actually matters. Start with the option for which you can obtain credible evidence, and keep another option only if its missing conditions are realistic to meet. Verify the final application checklist with the authority before paying, resigning or arranging departure.

Work visa by destination: what the official source names

Saudi Arabia: a non-Saudi may not work without a work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The permit requires a contract with an employer. A Foreign Ministry service page describes an authorisation on a work visa, which sectors and organisations request to bring people in from outside.

Japan: Specified Skilled Worker (i) is a status of residence for work requiring skills which need considerable degree of knowledge or experience. The source limits the total stay to five years, or six where reasonable grounds are deemed to exist. Family members are generally not permitted.

Germany (Residence Act, official English translation with amendments up to 8 May 2024): a temporary residence permit to take up any skilled employment, under section 18a (vocational qualification) or section 18b (university degree). The Opportunity Card (section 20a) is a temporary residence permit for seeking employment or for recognition measures.

United Kingdom: a Skilled Worker visa allows a person to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer.

No single route fits everyone

Saudi Arabia: the contract must be written and fixed-term with an employer, the job must match the profession on the permit, and the worker's skills must meet a national need.

Japan (SSW i): the official flow starts with the employment contract with the accepting organisation. Applicants must be 18 or older and pass skill and Japanese tests (N4 is cited; Technical Intern Training (ii) completers are exempt). Acceptance limits differ by field: maximum 805,700 in all fields until March 2029. Bangladesh is an overseas test location for some fields (December 2025, preliminary).

Germany (Residence Act, official English translation with amendments up to 8 May 2024): a residence title for employment needs a concrete job offer, Federal Employment Agency approval and an equivalent qualification. Applicants aged 45 or over on a first 18a or 18b permit need at least 55 per cent of the pension earnings ceiling in salary, unless they show adequate old-age provision. The Opportunity Card is granted for up to one year initially and needs secured subsistence; the government can restrict cards for people not yet in Germany.

United Kingdom: the employer must be an approved sponsor, and the job must be on the eligible occupations list and pay the standard or going rate, whichever is higher. A confirmed job offer and a certificate of sponsorship are needed. English at CEFR B2 is required for a new application, unless the nationality is exempt.

Questions before acting

Which country is best for a Bangladeshi worker in 2026?

There is no universal winner supported by this review. Compare the actual route, verified offer, language preparation, available funds and whether your family can accompany you.

Does a valid recruiting licence prove my job is available?

No. Check the agency’s status and validity, then separately verify the employer, contract and job demand through the relevant BMET process.

Can I use IELTS Academic for Canada’s Express Entry?

IRCC specifies IELTS General Training for Express Entry. Choose an accepted immigration test and check the requirements for your exact programme before booking.

Do I need German B1 for the Opportunity Card?

The points route requires at least German A1 or English B2, alongside qualification, points and financing requirements. The fully recognised-qualification option has different language-proof conditions.

Can my family come on Japan’s SSW (i)?

The official SSW page says accompanying family is not allowed under SSW (i). Do not assume the different SSW (ii) conditions apply to an initial SSW (i) offer.

Can a care agency recruit me from Bangladesh for a new UK care-worker visa?

New overseas care-worker and senior-care-worker applications closed on 22 July 2025. For other health roles, ethical recruitment and professional-registration rules must also be checked.

How much does the whole move cost?

A reliable total needs the exact route and household. Separate official fees, required funds and your quoted relocation costs, then check which employment costs the employer must bear.
