The Department of Immigration lists a statutory non-refundable fee of US$500 and US$300 per dependant for the initial investor residence permit. Under the Immigration Regulations, a residence permit may be issued to the spouse or a minor child of a resident, or to the mother, father, grandparent or other dependent of a resident where the resident is able to maintain that person and undertakes to do so; a resident means any person lawfully within Zimbabwe other than for direct transit through Zimbabwe or a temporary visit. If a residence permit ceases to be valid, the holder and all persons authorised to enter Zimbabwe with the holder under the permit must leave Zimbabwe unless otherwise authorised to remain. (a) is the spouse or a minor child of a resident; or
(b) is the mother, father, grandparent or other dependent of a resident, where the resident is able to
maintain such person and undertakes to do so; or
“resident” means any person who is lawfully within Zimbabwe otherwise than for the purpose of—
(a) journeying through Zimbabwe in direct transit from one country to another; or
(b) making a temporary visit;
(2) If a residence permit ceases in terms of subsection (1) to be valid, the holder of the permit and all
persons authorised to enter Zimbabwe with him in terms of the permit shall, unless authorised in terms of
the Act or these regulations to remain therein, leave Zimbabwe.
