What happens after the request: registration, family handling, major support and rights where officially stated?

While the request is pending, the person is an asylum seeker: their request for recognition of refugee status is still being processed, and not everyone who applied for asylum will be recognised as a refugee. Refugees are protected by international law and, if their life or freedom is in danger, must not be sent back to their country of origin.
