- Age requirement
You are at least 18 and no more than 30... Except when you are between the ages of 15 and 18 and it is stated in the exchange programme.
- Employment, placement or host agreement
You are going to temporarily live... via a recognised exchange organisation.
- Financial resources
You have enough money to pay for your stay in the Netherlands.
Paperwork you prepare — it does not rule you out.
- Accommodation requirement
You are going to live with a host family that is registered in the Personal Records Database... host family consists of 2 or more persons.
- Health-insurance requirement
You have insurance that covers healthcare expenses in the Netherlands.
- Passport or travel-document requirement
You have a valid passport or other travel document.
- Prior immigration or residence status
You previously did not have a residence permit for exchange purposes in the Netherlands.
- Purpose or legal basis
Only a recognised exchange organisation can apply; the participant lives with a qualifying host family and joins a cultural exchange programme.
- Work rights
You may only do volunteer work... No work permit (TWV) is needed for volunteer work.
