Long Term Residency — qualifying residence
To qualify under this scheme, you must show legal residency in Ireland based on employment permit conditions as recorded by the corresponding Stamp 1 or Stamp 4 (issued by Immigration Service Delivery) in your passport, or expired Irish Residence Permit (IRP) cards.

Other main conditions are good character, not being an undue burden on the State, being legally resident and in employment when applying (self-employed applicants are not accepted). The permission can be renewed at the local immigration office after five years of living and working in Ireland on it, and it can be revoked if the criteria were not met or false information was given.
