A foreign national can obtain the permit to work as a religious worker, missionary, nun or monk within a recognised or approved religious community in Greenland.

The permit is granted for 1 year at a time up to a maximum of 3 years; if the religious worker is sent by their home country's authorities it can be extended to a total of 4 years, and beyond 3 years if the religious worker has marriage competence. The official source does not state change of host or family accompaniment rules.
