Australia raised almost every visa application charge on 1 July 2026
The Department of Home Affairs indexes visa application charges each 1 July. This cycle the increases run from about 15% to 95% depending on the subclass — we re-verified all 58 Australian routes we track against the official pricing table. Portugal's AIMA fees went up ~9% in February 2026
The official AIMA fee table (Portaria n.º 307/2023, updated 26 Feb 2026) raised the general reception & analysis fee to €133.00, the ARI (golden visa) reception fee to €842.80 and permanent residence to €351.10. Romania's minimum wage rose to RON 4,325 on 1 July 2026

Slovakia's subsistence minimum rose 3.9% on 1 July 2026
The životné minimum is now €295.22/mo for a single adult (Opatrenie 155/2026). Slovak residence categories that require 12× or 20× this amount moved accordingly — permanent residence proof of funds is now €3,542.64. Official source: slov-lex.sk.
Andorra approved an extraordinary mid-year minimum wage increase
Citing 4.2% inflation, Andorra's government raised the interprofessional minimum wage 2.8% to €1,568.67/mo effective 1 July 2026 — the second increase this year. Family reunification and residence categories pegged to the SMI follow it. Official source: govern.ad.
Colombia's minimum wage jumped 23% — and the digital nomad visa with it
Decree 0159 of 2026 set the 2026 minimum wage at COP 1,750,905 (a transitional decree while the Council of State reviews the original one). The digital nomad visa requires 3× minimum wage, so the income floor is now ≈ €1,381/mo. Official source: presidencia.gov.co.
South Korea quietly retired the H-2 Working Visit visa
Since 12 February 2026 the Ministry of Justice merged the H-2 (working visit) track into the F-4 (overseas Korean) visa — no new H-2 visas are being issued. If your plan relied on the H-2 lottery, it no longer exists as an entry route. Official source: moj.go.kr.
Ireland's student finance requirement is now €10,000/yr
Since 30 June 2025, study visa applicants for courses of one year must show access to €10,000 (or €833/mo for 6–8 month courses) — the old €7,000 figure still circulates on many advice sites but is out of date. Official source: irishimmigration.ie.
