What education or training is this pathway designed for?

This permit is for a person attending an educational institution, other than a school, approved by the Chief Immigration Officer.

    The Chief Immigration Officer may issue to any person who under the Act or these regulations cannot lawfully enter or remain in Zimbabwe a student’s permit in form No. I.F. 12 authorising him, subject to the conditions specified in section 32, to enter and reside in Zimbabwe for the purpose of attending any educational institution, other than a school, approved by the Chief Immigration Officer.

The Immigration Regulations provide for a student's permit for attending an educational institution, other than a school, approved by the Chief Immigration Officer; the regulations define a school as an educational institution providing full-time education for children and recognised as a school by the Chief Immigration Officer. The Department of Immigration's student permit checklist asks for a letter of acceptance from school and a clearance letter from the Ministry of Education, and for an extension a letter from the college or university. The permit requires attendance at an approved non-school educational institution. The regulation does not state a separate academic level, qualification or funds threshold. A fee of US$200 is payable for the application (Third Schedule, s.31(2)).
