What exactly is this: asylum, temporary protection, humanitarian admission, resettlement or another protection mechanism?

This is not a protection status. It is a short-term residence permit under Articles 31-33 of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458, issued to foreigners who are required to stay in Türkiye pursuant to a request or a decision of judicial or administrative authorities.

A short-term residence permit is applied for and the Article 32 conditions apply. The Article 32 conditions for a short-term residence permit are: submit supporting information and documents regarding the reason of stay in Türkiye; not fall within the scope of Article 7 of the Law; live in accommodation conditions that conform to general health and safety standards; on request, present a criminal record certificate issued by the competent authorities of the country of citizenship or legal residence; and submit information on the address of stay in Türkiye.

What happens after the request: registration, family handling, major support and rights where officially stated?

The duration of the residence permit for this purpose is issued taking into consideration the duration stated on the decision and demand, within the general short-term rule that a short-term residence permit is issued for a maximum of two years each time. It is refused, cancelled or not renewed where the short-term conditions are not met or no longer apply, where it is used outside its purpose, where there is a removal decision or entry ban, or upon violation of the rules on periods lived outside Türkiye.
