The TR transit visa is issued for up to 72 hours. If flights are impossible for over 24 hours due to force majeure, air transit passengers may be taken to hotels without a visa until the situation stabilises. Land transit by car gets a visa for the time needed on the shortest route, counted at 400 km per day. The official source does not state airport-change or multiple-stop rules.

The permission is a TR transit visa, requested via visa.gov.tj and the Tajik diplomatic or consular posts. The core onward-travel evidence is a visa for the destination country, unless no visa is needed there; a multiple-entry transit visa requires a matching multiple-entry visa for the destination (or no visa needed there).

    Транзитная виза выдается, при условии, что у заявителя есть виза страны, в которую он держит путь через территорию Республики Таджикистан, либо для поездки в третью страну виза не требуется. Многократная транзитная виза выдается в случае, если у заявителя имеется соответственно многократная виза государства, в которое он держит путь, либо для поездки в третью страну виза не требуется.
