The route is a resident visa for studying Mandarin Chinese; people who entered without a visa, with a landing visa, or on a visitor visa not for studying Chinese may not apply for a resident visa or extension of stay on the ground of studying Chinese.

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The applicant needs a certificate of enrolment and registration from a qualifying Mandarin Chinese Learning Center affiliated with a university accredited by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
