What short-visit purposes does this route cover?

eVisas are only granted for tourism and business purposes, visiting relatives, and attending international conferences or sporting events in Taiwan; other purposes such as employment, study, residence with family or Mandarin courses require another visa type from an overseas mission.

    Please note that eVisas are only granted for tourism and business purposes, as well as for visiting relatives and attending international conferences or sporting events in Taiwan. If you intend to travel to Taiwan for other purposes – such as employment, study, residence with family, or Mandarin language courses – you must submit an application for a suitable type of visa at a Taiwan (ROC) overseas mission.

The eVisa is valid for three months from the issue date, is single-entry, and allows a maximum stay of 30 days.

Apply online by submitting personal information and paying the fee by credit card; once approved, an email with a link to download and print the eVisa is sent. The eVisa stay cannot be extended or converted to other types of visas.
