The Gold Card targets professionals in twelve fields identified by the Act for the Recruitment & Employment of Foreign Professional Talent: Architecture, Biotechnology, Culture and Arts, Digital, Economy, Education, Environment, Finance, Law, National Defense, Science & Technology, and Sports.

What achievements, recognition, awards, publications, reputation or other evidence establishes the required level?

Recognition is assessed against the criteria for each professional field: apart from the Field of Architecture, an application must be submitted under only one field and one regulation, and in most cases under a specific entry under that regulation.     Please read the criteria for each relevant field carefully, as you may qualify under more than one field. However, aside from the Field of Architecture, an application must be submitted under only **ONE** field and **ONE** regulation. In most cases, applicants must also choose a specific entry under the regulation as well. In order to validate your qualifications, you will need to provide supporting documentation. Please match your supporting documentation as closely as possible with your field and regulation to ensure a speedy application.

Art. 4 also covers recognition 'by the competent authority in consultation with the relevant competent authority'.)

The Gold Card is a combined open work permit, residence permit and visa for skilled professionals. The official source does not state whether the holder may be self-employed or establish a business, or the family position.

Art. 17 gives a 6+6 month extension and Art. 18 lets foreign specialist professionals apply for permanent residence after 3 years of continuous residence (1 year if they meet specific conditions).)
