What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?
Short-stay permit holders may change jobs only with good reason and within the same sector and profession (application to the cantonal authority); residence permit holders employed as employees may change jobs freely unless the permit was linked to a specific labour-market condition. Family reunification (for arrivals from 1 January 2021) is under FNIA: foreign spouse and unmarried children under 18, with conditions (shared household, suitable accommodation, no social assistance, integration, language skills).
