Limits of the record
  • The document does not specify the exact types of education or training beyond 'EU programme or a multilateral programme'.
  • The document does not state whether the programme must be at a particular level (e.g., higher education).

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The applicant must hold a residence permit for higher-education studies in another EU country, and the studies in Sweden must be higher-education-level mobility studies: part of an EU programme or multilateral programme with mobility measures, or an agreement between two or more higher education institutions with a permanent mobility arrangement (ordinary exchange studies usually do not qualify). A certificate of studies from the higher education institution in Sweden with start and end dates is required.

  • The page states no family position for this notification route.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The stay in Sweden can last a maximum of 360 days. Afterwards, a person who had a residence permit for studies in another EU country (including a mobility-studies permit) and completed at least two semesters of the education in Sweden can apply, before the current permit expires, for a residence permit to look for work or explore starting a business, granted for up to one year after bachelor's/master's level. The official source does not state a renewal rule for the notification itself.
