How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The residence permit can be granted for at most one year and never beyond the passport’s validity. It can be extended. If it covers the full study period, the Swedish Migration Agency adds two weeks for the student to finish the studies and leave Sweden.
