What exactly is this: asylum, temporary protection, humanitarian admission, resettlement or another protection mechanism?

A temporary residence authorisation for exceptional circumstances based on collaboration with authorities. In this variant, the Government Delegation or Sub-delegation may grant an authorisation for collaboration with the labour administration or the judicial authority.

Which population, circumstances or geographic group does the mechanism cover?

Foreigners who prove, by any means, that they are working or have worked irregularly for at least six months in the two years before the collaboration began, and who meet the requirements of article 126 except letters a) and b).

The application may be filed by the person or ex officio by the labour authority, attaching the judicial decision or the administrative decision on the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate infringement record.

What happens after the request: registration, family handling, major support and rights where officially stated?

Adult applicants must provide criminal-record certificates from the countries of residence in the five years before entering Spain; the office obtains Spanish criminal-record and police reports within seven days. Incomplete files get a correction deadline of no more than fifteen days. Within one month of grant the person requests the TIE. The authorisation lasts one year and carries a work authorisation without geographic or occupational limits. The official source does not state support measures or family handling.
