Limits of the record
  • Searched RD 1155/2024 Art. 59(2) (mobility under an EU/multilateral programme or inter-institution agreement): it requires only a notification with travel document, first-State authorisation, programme proof and acceptance; it states no funds, insurance, tuition or full-time/attendance condition. Arts. 53.1.a) and 35.h)-i) apply to this route only through Art. 59(3), which covers students NOT in such a programme, so they were not used.

Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm whether the student may work, the main restrictions and the family position.

Limits of the record
  • Searched RD 1155/2024 Art. 59(2) and Law 14/2013: no work right or family rule is stated for students entering Spain under programme-based EU mobility. Art. 57 work rights apply to holders of a Spanish Art. 52.1 authorisation, not to this route.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

A student holding a valid higher-education authorisation from another EU Member State may undertake qualifying mobility in Spain for up to 360 days, after notification by the Spanish higher-education institution. The institution notifies before entry or within one month after entry, stating the intended dates; the first-State authorisation must cover the full mobility period. The immigration office may object within 30 days of complete notification, including if the maximum stay has elapsed.
