What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

For degree students (D-2-1 to D-2-4), the consulate may request additional documents such as a tuition receipt, flight ticket, 3-month bank statement or verification of enrolment, depending on the category of the Korean university; no fixed funds amount is stated. Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

Work is prohibited in principle and allowed only with advance permission. Part-time work is open to some D-2 students (visiting students after 6 months) and is limited to simple jobs usually done by students, excluding specialised fields, which need special permission (e.g. interpretation/translation, office or tour-guide assistant); it depends on attendance rate, GPA and status. Businesses registered as manufacturing or construction are restricted (manufacturing exception with TOPIK 4+), and foreign-language education facilities for minors are excluded. Work-and-study D-2 students may do one internship of up to 6 months during enrolment. Students in bachelor-level or higher programmes staying over 6 months can invite spouse and underage children as F-3, but some D-2 holders who have stayed under 2 years are restricted unless there are humanitarian reasons.
