Which travellers require a transit visa/permission and which officially documented exemptions are important?

All visitors, including infants and children, must hold an approved eTAS before travel, and transit through Somalia is one of the purposes it covers. Exempt: holders of passports of Rwanda and Malaysia (visa-free); holders of passports of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Burundi, Mauritania, Tanzania, Uganda, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and Comoros (visa on arrival); and travellers holding multiple-entry visas, residence permits or UN Laissez-Passer passports.

The permission is the eTAS. Requirements: passport valid at least six months after the planned arrival with at least one blank page, selfie or passport-type photo, contact details, arrival and departure itinerary, accommodation booking confirmation(s) and payment. The eTAS is single-entry and entry must occur within 180 days from the stated arrival date.
