What education or training is this pathway designed for?

Post-study residence for third-country nationals who, in the last two years, completed studies at a higher vocational or higher-education institution in Slovenia, obtained at least a higher vocational or higher-education qualification, and wish to stay to seek employment or self-employment (i.e. set up their own business).

The applicant must have successfully completed studies within the last two years at a higher vocational or higher-education institution in the Republic of Slovenia.

What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

The applicant must have sufficient means of subsistence for the stay in Slovenia, appropriate health insurance, a valid travel document, no grounds for refusal, and proof of completed study; if the institution has not yet issued the certificate, the administrative unit sets a deadline to submit it. The procedure is not free: an administrative fee and card costs are payable.

Issued once for at most 9 months and cannot be extended. After expiry the holder must leave Slovenia unless, before expiry, they obtain another appropriate residence permit (e.g. a single permit for employment or self-employment).
