What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

For a first-time intern residence-permit request, the official 2025 list asks for an internship agreement signed by the overseas school and the host company in Sint Maarten, and proof of registration of the overseas company. A separate official standard-documents list asks interns for proof of income without stating an amount in its intern item. The 2025 list puts an XCG 1,000 monthly amount under its student item, followed by a separately headed proof-of-income block that also mentions XCG 1,000; the reviewed layout does not establish whether that shared block applies to interns.

Limits of the record
  • The applicability to interns of the 2025 list’s separately headed proof-of-income block is unclear, so no intern-specific XCG 1,000 threshold is asserted. The standard-documents list and 2025 checklist do not reconcile the intern income condition; neither establishes intern-specific tuition, insurance, full-time or attendance conditions.

Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

A holder of a temporary residence permit may not perform, seek or accept work without express permission of the authority that granted the permit. The family position of interns is not stated.

See recorded sources
Limits of the record
  • Treating the intern permit as a temporary residence permit is an inference; the Admission Decree does not name internships.
  • Family position not stated.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the duration, renewal and post-study work or residence options.

Limits of the record
  • The capture has an 'Extension student' section but no extension or duration rules for interns; nothing on duration, renewal or post-internship options for this via.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
