Which nationalities and age range can participate?

The working-holiday stay permit is granted to a foreigner taking part in a working-holiday programme under understandings concluded between San Marino and other States, within the entry quotas set by the delegated decree under Article 19 and within the limits and conditions of those understandings. The official source does not state the participating nationalities or an age range.

What combination of travel, work, study or training does the programme permit?

Participants are entered on a dedicated list kept by the Labour Office (after their names are passed to the Foreign Affairs Secretariat through diplomatic channels) and may obtain a work clearance ('nulla osta lavorativo') for a maximum of twelve months, of which no more than six months may be with any single employer. The programme therefore combines a working-holiday stay with the right to take paid work under that clearance. The official source does not state whether study or training is permitted.

What are the defining limitations: quota, ballot, previous participation, employer limits, study limits or equivalent?

For 2026 the maximum number of working-holiday programme stay permits is one thousand one hundred and twenty-five. No more than six months of the work clearance may be with any single employer. The official source does not state a ballot, previous-participation rule or study limits.
