What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

Romanian-state scholarship holders are exempt from consular fees and the residence-permit fee and need not prove means of support; ethnic Romanians (with an ancestor who has or had Romanian citizenship) need not prove means of support. Proof of accommodation conditions and travel medical insurance covering the whole stay, medical repatriation, emergency medical treatment or hospitalisation or death, valid throughout the Member States, with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000 are required.

The right of residence may be extended for a period equal to the total duration of studies for students and pupils. The residence permit is renewed at least 30 days before the expiry of the previous one, and may be extended for a further 9 months after graduation for job search, employment or business-opening formalities.
