A foreigner wishing to settle in the Congo must prove their resources. The resident-card file includes a receipt for the repatriation guarantee deposit, except for nationals of countries with free-movement agreements with the Congo; the deposit equals the economy-class air fare from the Congo to the country of origin, increased by 25% for incidental costs.
