The pathway is designed for owners, managers or workers of companies headquartered or with a principal or secondary establishment in an EEA state or a state defined by order of the Government members responsible for foreign affairs and internal administration, which relocate their headquarters or principal or secondary establishment to Portuguese territory, when they hold a valid residence permit or residence title in the EEA state (or another to be defined).

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

If the foreign residence title is temporary, the Portuguese residence title is valid for two years from the date of issuance, renewable for successive periods of three years. If the foreign residence title is permanent, the Portuguese residence title is valid for five years, renewable under Article 76 of the Aliens Act.
