This Article 6(13) naturalisation route for a parent of a Portuguese national of origin is closed to new applications from 19May 2026: Article 5 of Organic Law 1/2026 expressly repealed that paragraph. Article 7 preserves the previous law for administrative proceedings pending when the amendment entered into force. Any acquisition granted in a preserved proceeding produces its legal effects on registration; registration is constitutive. The older Ministry of Justice service page cannot establish that new applications remain available under the repealed ground.
