What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

The ICT permit is designed for third-country nationals and stateless persons temporarily transferred to a host entity in Poland for more than 90 days to perform work as a managerial staff member, specialist, or trainee employee.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

The holder has limited access to the Polish labour market: they may work in Poland in accordance with the conditions of the granted permit. The decision names the host entity and the conditions of work (position, working time and minimum remuneration), so the holder is tied to them; working outside these conditions is contrary to the regulations and may lead to a decision obliging the foreigner to return. How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

The permit is granted for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of stay of more than 3 months: up to 3 years for managerial staff or specialists, and up to 1 year for employee trainees. It does not renew automatically; before expiry, the host entity may apply again for an ICT permit or the foreigner may apply for a different type of temporary residence permit. If the permit was granted for the maximum period or intra-EU mobility was used, renewal is not possible.
