What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

A settlement visa expires two years after issue. A holder who has lawfully resided on Pitcairn for more than 18 months and has not been absent for more than four months during the visa may apply for permanent residence before the visa expires; permanent residence cannot be granted until more than two years of lawful residence, but processing may start on an application made after 18 months. The official source does not state a renewal procedure for the settlement visa.
