Migraciones grants the 'Artística o Deportiva' status to foreigners who carry out artistic, cultural, sporting or similar activities; it extends to their entourage.

What achievements, recognition, awards, publications, reputation or other evidence establishes the required level?

Evidence is contractual rather than merit-based: an artistic contract signed before entry and filed with the Ministry of Labour (MTPE) and SUNAT, a list of artists and entourage from the contracting company, and an inter-union pass issued by the Peruvian union for the artist's specialty or genre.

Is an employer, nominator, recognised body, peer group or government endorsement required?

Yes: a Peruvian contracting company must sign the contract (its legal representative must provide a sworn statement of authority to contract unless the General Manager signs), the contract must specify the number and dates of shows, and the Peruvian artists' union for the genre must issue an inter-union pass.

Can the holder change employer, work independently, establish a business or conduct other professional activity? What is the family position?

Allows remunerated or lucrative activities linked to artistic, cultural, sporting or similar shows under a contract; authorities verify the foreigner only performs what the contract sets out. The status extends to the artist's entourage. Sources conflict on family: the Regulation says temporary statuses are personal and cannot be extended to the family unit, while the Migration Law (Legislative Decree) says family of temporary-status holders with stays over 90 days are assigned the same status.
