What education or training is this pathway designed for?

The route is for foreign students studying in Pakistan; the page does not specify an education level or discipline for the Student sub-route.

See recorded sources

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

Required documents include an admission/bonafide letter, an NOC from the concerned Ministry of Pakistan and an NOC to the student by the native country. The official source does not define the type of institution or course that must admit the student.

Limits of the record
  • The type of institution or course that must admit the student is not defined.

What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

The documented conditions are an admission (bona fide) letter from the institution, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the relevant Pakistani ministry or division (Education, Economic Affairs Division or Health, as the case may be), an NOC from the student's own country (its mission in Pakistan), and security clearance. The Embassy of Pakistan in Paris also asks for a sponsorship letter or bank statement where family accompanies the student. None of these official pages states a tuition, minimum-funds, insurance, attendance or full-time-study requirement for the student alone.

Limits of the record
  • No official Pakistani source found stating tuition, minimum funds, health insurance, attendance or full-time enrolment conditions for study visas.

Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm whether the student may work, the main restrictions and the family position.

Limits of the record
  • Independent literal and semantic review is pending.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

Under DGI&P's 'Revision in Study Visa Duration', a Study Entry Visa or Extension is issued for 2 years after security-agency clearance, to be completed within 30 days; extension is granted through the same study-visa process. The Ministry of Interior's entry-visa table and the Embassy in Paris also state 2 years. The same DGI&P page still carries an older statement that students get a visa or extension for one year with one re-entry. No post-study work or residence route is stated.

Limits of the record
  • No officially documented post-study work or residence pathway for study-visa holders found.
  • DGI&P page still contains an unreconciled older one-year visa/extension sentence.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
