How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

Granted for up to two years. The decision may pre-commit to a new permit within the two-year period if the worker receives a concrete offer of the same work on the same terms. After a total stay of two years, a new permit may be granted after one year outside Norway. The permit does not form a basis for permanent residence.
