    (2) Сезонското вработување на странци ќе биде дозволено во рамките на активностите од сезонска природа, единствено во случај кога побарувачката на пазарот на работна сила привремено ја надминува понудата, која ќе послужи како основа за одредување на годишната квота за овие намени.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

The employer must conclude a fixed-term employment contract with the foreigner. For the Employment Agency opinion, evidence of the employing entity's registration in the Central Register of North Macedonia, a signed employment contract and a justification of the need for seasonal work of a foreigner are required. The Agency will not issue a positive opinion if the employer has been penalised for illegal employment, failure to register the foreigner as a worker or not meeting legal obligations on contributions, taxes and other obligations, or if bankruptcy proceedings have been opened.

    (2) Агенцијата нема да издаде позитивно мислење доколку: - работодавецот е казнет поради незаконско вработување или непријавување на странецот како работник, - доколку е покрената постапка за стечај или - доколку работодавецот е казнет поради неисполнување на обврските утврдени со закон во врска со плаќање на придонеси, даноци, како и други обврски утврдени со закон.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The Employment Agency's positive opinion for seasonal work is issued as part of the quota set for seasonal employment. Evidence of appropriate education in the field or qualification is required where the foreigner works in a regulated profession, and evidence of knowledge of Macedonian and its Cyrillic script where the job requires it.

A holder may perform only the work for which temporary residence was approved. The official source does not state whether family members may accompany the holder.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

The seasonal-work opinion is valid for up to six months, or up to nine months for construction, and is issued only once in a calendar year unless the law provides otherwise. The official source does not state a longer-term residence direction.
