Which exceptional-talent, academic, scientific, artistic, technological, cultural or other profiles does the pathway target?

The visa targets people with exceptional talent in a field of art, sport or culture who are aged 55 or under.

What achievements, recognition, awards, publications, reputation or other evidence establishes the required level?

Applicants need evidence of an international reputation, continued prominence, and that their presence will enhance New Zealand's achievements and/or participation in the field; evidence may include qualifications, awards, professional-association membership and letters of support.

The holder can work in any occupation for any employer. Partner and dependent children cannot be included in the work visa application but can apply for visas based on the relationship, and can be included in the residence application after 2 years of active engagement.

What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

The visa allows a stay of up to 30 months; after 2 years of active engagement in the field the holder can apply for residence and, if successful, stay indefinitely.
