The applicant must have ongoing employment in the South Island: current employment or an offer of employment that is full time, paid by salary or wages, genuine, sustainable and ongoing (permanent or indefinite, or a stated term of at least 24 months), in the South Island, on terms not less than those of the New Zealand market, and with an employer that has a history of compliance with immigration and employment law and is not on the Labour Inspectorate's list of non-compliant employers.
