What education or training is this pathway designed for?

Full-time study in New Zealand for more than 3 months for holders of a foreign government scholarship, at the course stated on the visa, including school, tertiary and English language study.

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

An offer of place from an approved education provider that states the course, its length, the tuition fee amount and confirmation that the tuition fees will be paid by the applicant's Government.

The applicant's Government must have an education agreement with New Zealand and provide a letter agreeing to pay the education provider for tuition fees and to pay living expenses, and confirming good character; the student must hold medical insurance while in New Zealand and make satisfactory progress.

The student may work part-time up to 25 hours a week while studying and full-time in holidays, depending on visa conditions; no work rights for students under 16; students aged 16 or 17 or in years 12 or 13 need written permission; self-employment is not allowed.
