A Workshop/Seminar/Meeting/Research Visa is a visa type; passport holders from the countries on the MOFA permitted list and Chinese Taiwan are eligible to apply for it as a Visa On Arrival.

What maximum stay, rolling-period rule, validity and entry rules apply?

Length of stay is 28 days (visa fee 40 USD). A stay extension can be applied for according to the rules and regulations only for the Research purpose; the other types cannot apply. The official source does not state visa validity or the number of entries.

What important funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel or passport evidence may be required?

For the visa on arrival the applicant must have a valid passport not expiring for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Myanmar, bring two recent (4cm x 6cm) colour photos taken within the past six months, produce a letter of invitation by the ministries concerned when attending meetings, workshops, events and ceremonies, and stay at hotels, motels and guest houses holding legal licences issued by the Myanmar Government (or legally permitted factories and workshops, or human dwellings), stating exactly the address of stay.

Where/how is permission obtained when required, and under what important circumstances can a stay be extended or changed?

Eligible passport holders can obtain the visa on arrival, entering through Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport or Nay Pyi Taw International Airport. The stay can be extended according to the rules and regulations only for the Research purpose; the other types (workshop, seminar, meeting) cannot apply for extension.
