What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The host must be a higher education institution (Дээд боловсролын байгууллага), for a foreign national coming to study there; the inviting organisation files the visa application.

What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

An official request from the inviting organisation/legal entity stating the area of study and duration of stay is required, and supporting documents may include a training contract, supervisor's certificate, a certificate from the training department (transcript, attendance record) and proof of tuition payment. A physical examination is needed. The official source does not state a funds amount, health insurance or a full-time study requirement.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The residence permit can be issued for up to 1 year and must be applied for within 21 days after entry. Extension of a study/training residence permit is applied for to the relevant organisations under Article 30.2 of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Nationals.
