What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

The pathway is for a foreign worker who is an employee in Monaco, supported by an employment contract endorsed by the Employment Service.

Limits of the record
  • The sources do not restrict the pathway to particular occupations or sectors, nor describe other employment situations beyond salaried private employment.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

Employer involvement is explicit: the procedure covers authorisation to hire staff and work-permit amendments or renewals, handled through the Employment Office.

Limits of the record
  • The page is an Employment Office registration procedure and does not establish the full route eligibility, work rights, permit duration or renewal outcome for a salaried residence permit.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The official source does not state an occupation list, qualification, experience, salary or skill-level condition. The work permit names the authorised profession, and the permit requirement applies regardless of the form and duration of the employment contract and of the amount and nature of the remuneration.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

A foreign worker may carry out private employment only with a work permit and only in the profession named on that permit. A change of employer, trade or profession requires a new work-permit application. The permission is therefore specific to both the authorised profession and the approved employment relationship. The official source does not state whether family may accompany.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

A qualifying first-time resident receives a temporary residence card valid for no more than one year. For a worker, the first application includes a work permit or an equivalent receipt, and the temporary card can be renewed only while the holder still meets those conditions. After more than three years of residence an ordinary residence card valid for three years may be granted; after at least ten years a privileged residence card valid for ten years may be granted, except in the cases provided in Article 8.

Limits of the record
  • The ordinary and privileged cards 'may be granted' (il peut être attribué): progression is discretionary, not automatic.
  • The exceptions in Article 8 and the conditions of Article 1 are not in the captured excerpts.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
