What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The educational institution must file a request (with the Standard Application Form), and the applicant submits a copy of the document proving enrolment to studies, a copy of the study contract and, except for aliens from countries that signed the Lisbon Convention, a copy of the agreement of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research; institutions applying for the first time add documents such as an activity licence or registration certificate.

The applicant must provide proof of means of subsistence in the amount corresponding to the residence category (foreigners on Moldovan scholarships instead prove the scholarship), health insurance valid for at least 3 months, and proof of the right to use a dwelling, which may be a student-hostel assignment order/accommodation voucher. How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The permission is renewable: GIM publishes an extension document list for this category, and extension documents must be submitted at least 30 days before the authorised end of stay (at least 15 days for EU citizens); missing the deadline is subject to administrative penalties. The official source does not state the duration of the status or any post-study work or residence possibility.
