Single-entry visas are valid for three months and usable once; multiple-entry visas are valid for six or twelve months with multiple entries during validity. E-visa validity starts from the date of issue. A visitor's permit is issued to a bona fide tourist or visitor for a period not exceeding three months, and the official source does not state a rolling-period rule. A visitor with a valid Visitors/Business Visit permit who has resided in Malawi for the maximum of 90 days and has legitimate and justifiable reasons for continued residence may be issued a Temporary Residence Permit.
