How long does the status last, how does renewal or change of club work where stated, and what longer-term residence possibilities exist?

The temporary residence permit is issued for 2 years (or for the period of the activities if shorter) and can be renewed each time for the same period; a national long-term visa is issued for 1 year and cannot be renewed. After five years of continuous legal residence the person can obtain permanent resident status, with a test of basic Lithuanian language and Constitution knowledge.
