The Doctors and nurses residence checklist requires application letters from the employer and applicant, an employment contract, a work permit copy and registration with the medical council. It does not state a separate transfer or family relationship.

Under the Labour Act, a non-citizen may not accept employment in Lesotho, and no employer may employ one, without a valid work permit issued by the Director, National Employment Service. The official source does not state what work this permission allows, whether the holder is tied to an employer, occupation or sector, or whether family can accompany.
161. (1) No employer shall employ any person in Lesotho who is not a citizen of Lesotho, and no such person shall accept employment in Lesotho, un- less that person is in possession of a valid work permit issued by the Director, National Employment Service.
The charter lists a Doctors and nurses residence-permit category. By positional alignment only, its second unlabelled fee block lists two years at M3,000 and indefinite at M25,000; the fee labels do not establish the individual grant duration or entitlement to indefinite residence. Home Affairs separately says non-citizens with at least five years of lawful Lesotho residence may apply for citizenship; this is not automatic acquisition.

Non-Basotho citizens who have been residing lawfully in Lesotho for 5 or more years are legible to apply for Lesotho citizenship.
