What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

This route is for a person supplying services in Jersey as a contractual service supplier for an employer based outside the European Union in a country or territory that is a signatory to the relevant trade agreement.

The person must have been an employee of the company for at least 12 months.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The person must hold a degree-level or equivalent qualification, unless supplying fashion model, chef de cuisine or entertainment services (other than audio-visual) under the EU–CARIFORUM agreement, or advertising and translation services. Any professional qualifications or registrations required by Jersey legislation or sectoral rules must be held. The person needs 3 years’ professional experience in the sector; chefs de cuisine under the CARIFORUM agreement need at least 6 years’ experience at that level and an advanced technical qualification.

Under the general employee conditions of the work permit policy, the employee can only work for the employer specified on the permit and carry out the duties covered by the permit and contract; where permitted and with the primary employer’s consent, they can take additional part-time work with another employer. The employee may not be able to have dependants join them in Jersey.
