What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

The holder may work only full time as a domestic worker for the employer in a household the employer intends to live in, and must leave Jersey at the end of 6 months or when the employer leaves, whichever is earlier. The official source does not state whether family members may accompany the holder.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

Leave to enter may be granted for up to 6 months, and an extension may be granted for 6 months less the time already spent in Jersey in this capacity. For people who entered under the Rules in place before 6 April 2012, extensions may be granted for up to 12 months at a time; indefinite leave to remain is available to such entrants after a continuous period of 5 years in Jersey employed in this capacity, provided they continue to be required as a domestic worker as certified by the current employer, meet the English language and life in the UK and Jersey requirement (Appendix KoLL), do not fall for refusal under the general grounds and are not in Jersey in breach of immigration laws (overstaying of 28 days or less is disregarded).
