Remuneration must be equal to or higher than that of Japanese nationals performing equivalent work, and Specified Skilled Workers must be 18 years of age or older. SSW(ii) does not follow automatically from SSW(i); it can be obtained directly by demonstrating the skills. Applicants must pass the Shipbuilding and ship machinery industry Specified Skilled Worker (ii) Test or Level 1 of the Skill Exam and, under the guideline, have at least two years of practical experience as a supervisor directing, commanding and managing multiple workers.
